The company philosophy of Jeweller Mayer

“Our watches tick a little differently”, says owner and managing director Michael Mayer about his jewellery and watch shop “Juwelier Mayer”, which can be found in the middle of Starnberg in the Seearkaden. The 59-year-old has succeeded in creating an extraordinary atmosphere in the large, bright rooms. Is it due to the lovingly decorated displays? The friendly employees who take the time to smile even during the busiest hours? Or is it the fact that every visitor is greeted like a welcome guest with a cup of coffee or a glass of water? Welcome customers warmly, entertain them friendly and advise them openly and honestly – that goes without saying as part of our service. “We take our time and do everything we can to fulfil every wish, no matter how unusual,” says owner Michael Mayer.

For Michael Mayer and his team, watches and jewellery are a true passion – this is also reflected in the exquisite selection of extraordinary jewellery, which is constantly expanded by new trends and noble classics. One thing is certain: Regular customers of the company, which has been in existence since 1996, appreciate the feeling of being warmly welcomed and being advised honestly and competently, as do jewellery and watch lovers who find their way to Wittelsbacherstraße 2 in Starnberg in search of the perfect gift for themselves and others. The assortment is comprehensive and always in tune with the times: on around 100 square metres, brilliantly adorned rings made of the finest materials sparkle alongside elaborately crafted necklaces from German and international suppliers, and colourful children’s watches are also available in a selection of photos: Hannes Magerstaedt and luxurious Rolex or Breitling chronographs. “We take time for the people who come to us,” says Michael Mayer. “Because only those who are careful in their work and have a genuine interest in their counterpart can help to find the ideal piece of jewellery or the watch that perfectly suits the wearer.

Mayer’s willingness to take unusual paths is also evident in his in-house jewellery and watchmaking workshops. With deliberation and the high demand to make every dream come true, Mayer’s favourite pieces are repaired, cleaned and maintained there. And sometimes even recreated – like recently, when a customer with a heart’s desire entered the shop. She not only wanted to carry her own wedding ring, but also that of her deceased husband. “I’ll think of something,” the jeweller promised. Of course, he kept his word and shortly afterwards presented a new ring, which unites both pieces of jewellery and thus an infinite number of priceless memories. “In our fast-moving times, we sell a little bit of eternity with every piece of jewellery and every watch,” says Michael Mayer. And perhaps it is this awareness of true values, the return to almost forgotten virtues such as hospitality, openness and honesty that makes the atmosphere in this traditional company so unique.
